Key points:

  • With a good Customer Relationship Management system, you can develop an incredibly effective sales force
  • Most Customer Relationship Management software applications are expensive
  • Tracking and managing your sales pipeline is mandatory if you're going to succeed
  • Amy Hardin will help you identify some inexpensive solutions to managing your sales pipeline and your salespeople

The definition of CRM is basically any and all aspects related to the management of the interaction a company has with its customers. Though often used exclusively in reference to software packages that are designed to manage everything customer related, your CRM system is really the entire process.

The basic principle behind a good CRM sytem is drawing directly from the customer what their needs, wants, and desires are and focusing your business accordingly. It's  about understanding and determining what current and future customers need and designing the business strategy around those needs.
